A/B Testing Support
It'd be cool to use sendgrid to support A/B testing of emails. I'm not sure how this would be achieved though!

The best way to implement this for transactional mail is to use our Event API in conjunction with Unique_Args or Categories.
We are working on improving the featureset on our Newsletter A/B testing.

Rob - thanks for the suggestion. Over the coming quarters we expect to have a feature that allows A/B style testing. Feel free to add more specifics of how you would want to use this feature. Thanks

We're in the process of implementing A/B testing with SendGrid.
Will this feature be delivered soon or are we better off moving forward on our own?
Happy to share details on our implementation: @ardell on twitter.-
Were you able to implement A/B testing? I am looking at Sendgrid but also Blue Sky, as they already do A/B testing.

We were. We ended up using Sendgrid's Google Analytics integration (see here: http://blog.sendgrid.com/how-to-track..., and implemented our own back-end to pick a random content variant to serve up. We use Google Analytics' "Campaign Content" parameter to differentiate between A and B versions.

Very nice. Would you mind if in the none-to-distance future I inquired as to some more of the specifics of your solution?

Thanks for your follow up. That feature in now ready for your use with the beta newsletter. From the newsletter page (http://sendgrid.com/newsletter) in your account select "Switch to beta newsletter". The AB testing is part of that product - step 2.

Hi Ken,
I'd love to discuss with you how we'd like to use SendGrid to A/B test our transactional emails. We're using Google Analytics to track conversion rates now but it doesn't allow us to incorporate deliveries/opens/etc into our tests.
The newsletter A/B feature looks great, but unfortunately it looks like it won't work for transactional emails.
Shoot me an email if you're available to discuss... my username at gmail.
Best,
