What if we updated the statistics page to only include categories with data for the currently selected timerange? That would make simple management, right?

The only tricky part about comparison is limiting the amount of data that gets graphed. Event X category X date will end up a mess of lines. Would event(opened) X category X date be more or less useful than event X category aggregated over the selected date range? Do you need both, or is one preferred to the other?

The first point would be great. If there is no data to show, then why should I be able to select it? However, it might be good to have a little note saying "N categories not shown because they have no data in the select time range," or something to that effect.

The way I would plan to use comparing different categories, would most likely be having multiple categories open and only looking at one maybe two different events. Categories would be colored differently and the events would have different line types (solid, dashed, dot-dash, etc.).

For the table view, I'd like to be able to set one category as the control and have the other categories color coded underneath. A relative change against the control would pretty cool. A green or red percentage in parentheses showing this category was 23% better (or worse) than the control category.

We still need a way to remove categories, especially those created during development or testing. I currently can't find any way to do that.
