Can you delete/hide a category?

I have the same problem. Is there a way to delete them?

Is there really absolutely no way to do this?

If you talk to their support, they can remove them manually for you. They did it for me and cleaned it up.

We need this! A bad script created JSON with categories as an array, and spammed up our Statistics page.

Sorry to disappoint but there is no way currently for users to delete categories.

I've spoke with our developers and there is hope that this will be implemented some day though it doesn't look like this will happen timely.

Definite +1 for this feature.

There are several reasons end-users need this feature.

1. Junk categories are bound to be created during testing.
2. Your category strategy may change so you might need to delete old categories, or merge them into a new category.
3. If you have junk categories then the data is no longer meaningful.
4. If the data is not meaningful then the whole point of categories is rendered completely useless.

I see that Ryan Harris mentioned this feature wouldn't be coming anytime soon, but that was 5 months ago. Has any development of this feature been done?
