Definitions for messages 'delivered' vs. 'opened'?
Why is the number of messages delivered showing less than the number of messages opened? What do those terms mean, exactly?

Messaged delivered = messages accepted by a remote mail server.
Messages opened = messages tracked utilizing an invisible image. It works by adding an invisible image at the end of the email. If the email recipient has images enabled on the email client, a request to server for the invisible image is executed and an open is then logged.
Since stats are collected daily, if you send a message yesterday, and I open it today, yesterday's stats show 1 delivery and 0 opens and today's stats would show 1 open and 0 deliveries.
