queue length api
We need to have visibility into our queue length to see how much email is pending delivery due to defers. Can we get this added to your API so we have visibility into these numbers? We are grabbing them from another smtp provider and graphing them on our end.

That's a great idea, and probably isn't that hard to do. I'll work out the details of how to best implement this and add it to our work queue.

I'd like to double down ont this request and also ask whether it's possible to delete emails in the queue too.
I was doing a load of automated testing that at the time (now fixed) send out emails, went over my daily sendgrid limit and then today am experiencing another 200 emails going out that I didn't realise were queued up.
This could well be an edge case but it would have been useful for me. -

I also would like to see this happen. We had one case where an email was sent with the subject line "Last day to take advantage of your discount". Unfortunately, that email was deferred, and was not delivered until the day after the "Last Day".
You can imagine how frustrating it would be to a customer to receive an email like this the day after. If you're the customer, you might rightly ask "If it's already too late, then why did you bother even telling me at all?"
Allowing us to get a view into the queue, and better yet, to adjust that queue accordingly, would allow us to avoid embarrassing little problems like this. -
