I would find it extremely helpful to have an "as needed" alert for when the number of emails sent in a day (or other time period) is above or below a certain number.
This would have a number of uses. Particularly, it would help catch the case where something goes wrong and too few emails were sent (or none), or too many emails were sent (ping-pongs etc.), and could help us notice in a timely fashion when anomalous numbers of emails are sent from our account.

It would also be good to have a pause if the email sent number were suddenly to spike for a specific user. For example if a single user receives more than 5 emails from us in a day, it would temporarily pause their email queue and notify the administrator (me).
