Statistics by newsletter
Is there a way to get statistics (bounces, opens, unsubscribes, link clicks etc.) for each newsletter sent out?... alternatively is there a way to simulate this with categories or something else in the structure that you have?

I've had a bit of a further look into the API and see that you can retrieve stats as summary numbers for emails sent out as part of a particular category but you don't seem to actually be able to apply a category to a newsletter or email when sending via the corresponding API's.
Also, is it possible to list non summary data (e.g. individual email address unsubscribes / bounces / clicks for a particular email that was sent out) -

Hello,
You can get stats on individual Newsletters. First you would want to make sure you are using our New Newsletter. You can see that on the right of the newsletter page, it will say "switch to current newsletter app."
When in this page, on the right, under My Newsletter, you will see the links "Manage" and "Create." Click on Manage and here you will see all the newsletters you have drafted and sent. If you float your mouse over the particular newsletter you would like to view the stats on and there is a "Stats" button you can click on and see that newsletter statistics.
Unfortunately you can't attach a category to a newsletter. The title of your newsletter can act as a category, unless you are trying to lump several newsletters into the same category.
At this point I don't believe there is a means to look at the stats of an individual email address.

Hi Ryan,
You say you can use the title of the newsletter as a category - does that mean that if we pass its name into the stats api we'll be able to retrieve stat's for it? -

Hello,
Sorry to be confusing here. The title doesn't act as a category. I was just trying to say that b/c each newsletter can have a unique title, you could look at each newsletter stats. I wasn't trying to say that you can pull the name of the newsletter through the API. I know that our developers are trying to work on an app that will be able to pull newsletter stats through an API.
Once again sorry for the confusion.

Hi Ryan,
No worries.
Maybe if i explain the purpose of this a bit more you might be able to suggest a workaround.
a) This question relates entirely to the API and stats.
b) We're building an email campaign, template and mailing list manager for a particular industry that will be on-sold to a user base.
c) We're trying to fork off our infrastructure for sending email campaigns (newsletters) on behalf of our customers to you guys.
d) We would love to be able to fork off the statistics tracking for emails to you guys as well.
e) For each campaign that we send, we need to be able to retrieve isolated statistics for that campaign.
It seems to be possible via categories... and I think (from looking again through all the api documentation) that you might be able to apply a category against an email when sending using the x-smtpapi parameter. -

Hi Ryan,
Any progress on a Newsletter Stats API method? I started by interfacing with the Newsletter API but apparently this won't allow me to specify a category or track. I also need to retrieve stats for each newsletter individually.
Also, looks like you used to have one? You should update the documentation here: http://wiki.sendgrid.com/doku.php?id=... to say it's no longer supported as I wouldn't have started down the development path I did knowing that.
Thanks,
Ben -
