When subscribers unsubscribe, I would like to ask them for feedback - just a simple box asking them what we can do to make the service more useful to them.
Is there any way such a form can be added to the unsubscribe page? Or is customisation limited to taking them to our own site to fill out a form there?
The aim isn't to put any barriers into unsubscribing. We just want to give people the opportunity to tell us why.

We don't have that kind of advanced functionality on our side, but it's something you can easily implement in the Subscription Tracking Settings.
You can customize our landing page, and in theory build an inline form there, but that's not the best solution.
The other option is to use the Custom Landing URL. In that case, we log the unsubscribe, the redirect it to the URL of your choosing, where you can have the questionnaire on your site. -

Thanks Jacob. I had no idea the custom URL worked like that - a redirect immediately after unsubscribing. I'll pass that on to our developer working on this project.
Does - or can - the redirect URL include the email of the user? If we are going to be asking the user for feedback, then it would be nice to pre-fill the user's email address on the feedback form for convenience. -

Yuu can, but you'd have to use the SMTP API Filter Settings to define it for each message.
