I made a test for sending an email to my yahoo address and it arrived in spam folder. I used the api and send it from php. What can be the problem?

We are aware of the deliverability difficulties to Yahoo and have been discussing this problem with their postmaster. Yahoo is also aware of the problem as it is not specific to SendGrid.
If you are experiencing problems please contact us directly (support@sendgrid.com) and we can investigate your Yahoo deliverability and take steps to have it corrected.

Hi,
If I can get your username, I can take a look at your account and see if I can find a reason for that.

I'm afraid I don't see a user by that username on our system.

I have the same question Joe, my account is "notifications [at the domain> nocnok [dot] com
Currently I have a Free account because I'm evaluating SendGrid and another service to send critical emails. I think the Silver package is what I need once this problem is resolved.
Thank you for any help on this. -

I have this same problem with my current ISP and site on a shared server. I was suggested to check out your service, but I see that other users are having the same problem. I'd be interested in how this can be resolved.
-
I've planned a move to a dedicated server. That will solve the problem permanently.

Opps, I forgot to update the status.
I contacted the Support Team and upgraded my account to the Silver Package and haven't had any problem since.
I am very pleased with the service. Only thing I could ask for is the ability to track individual emails and not just statistics. -

Mine are still going into yahoo spam folder too...no response from support for over 24 hours :(

Same here... all our emails go to spam folder for yahoo. some users have spamguard set to delete immediately and these are vital emails. epic fail (on yahoo im sure)

Please contact us directly at support@sendgrid.com, or check our support homepage for more options (http://support.sendgrid.com). As deliverability issues cover a wide spectrum, we find it best to work with customers on an individual basis to diagnose and solve their deliverability problems.

When I signed for the silver account it worked for a while, but after a few weeks my emails started to go to the Spam Folder again.
I contacted sendgrid's support and they were very kind and directed me on how to go through the whitelabel process (to change the Domain Keys) and they contacted Yahoo to get my account in their bulk sender list, and we were added, but nothing changed. Maybe it's Yahoo's fault and a complete delivery service is not possible.
Right now I'm sending email to Yahoo using my normal email server and for the rest I user sendgrid. -

All emails sent to Yahoo from sendgrid end up in the spam folder.
This is because the IP address that sendgrid emails seem to originate from is considered bulk email by Yahoo. If you enable full headers in Yahoo, you will see the following header:
X-YahooFilteredBulk: 67.228.50.54
I am 100% sure that sendgrid has been fully aware of this issue for a long time and are just stalling so that the complaints will go away. They need to follow up with Yahoo to make sure that their sender IP address is NOT in Yahoo's bullk filter list. -

I did some tests sending to yahoo, when using the web api e-mails goes to inbox.
Using swift and php, it goes to inbox when i remove the X-SMTPAPI header.
With the X-SMTPAPI it always goes to spam box on yahoo.
Hope it helps. -
-
@Immortal: The X-SMTPAPI header is used internally within the SendGrid system to control your account. X-SMTPAPI is always stripped from the final message and won't appear when the email reaches its final destination. That being said, depending on what settings you changed with the X-SMTPAPI header (i.e. disabling DomainKeys, for example) could affect final disposition of the message in question.

The problem isn't just with Yahoo e-mail addresses. In the UK, Yahoo also operate BTInternet e-mail addresses (one of the largest ISPs).
I've contacted support a number of times regarding this issue without any luck.
I have just posted a new ticket (#22789) but it seems like I'm not the only one having an issue.
I am on the silver package but have started looking at alternative providers. It is a shame as I'm a big fan of SendGrid :-( -
-
FWIW, after we switched to dedicated IP, we have not had that problem.
-
That fixed most of my problems too--even without sendgrid.

Hi Anthony,
I've responded directly to your ticket #22789. Please check your email and get back to me with the requested information -

We don't get this problem much with a dedicated IP and domain whitelisting set up. Occasionally gmail decides to chuck an email straight into the spam folder.
